Were it not for my sister Linda I would not have had the information about our family history of ovarian cancer that ultimately saved my life...it meant the difference between stage 3 and stage 4...having been adopted as an infant, my sister took many years to locate my adoptive family so that she could share this vital medical information with me...I truly owe her my life...even though the medical doctors were still late in diagnosing me due to my young age, they did eventually find it! Had I not known about this cancer running in our family I would never had known enough to persist until I had a doctor who would listen...I have been 7 years cancer free as of this year, against all the odds...Now I am able to share the signs and symptoms of ovarian cancer with other women so that they are aware and can be in charge of their healthcare...who knows how many lives Linda may save as a result of saving mine...?
