Laura Fisher
Greenbelt, MD
Honored by Mary Fisher
Laura is my older daughter. Her father died her freshman year in high school. Six months later her sister was diagnosed with ulterative colitis and over the next 3 years we would spend months in the hospital, including loosing her large intestine and undergoing reconstructive surgery. I ended up spending weeks at a time at the hospital. Laura Anne continued her schooling and graduated on time. She started college in Boston but, at the end of her first semester, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. She insisted on leaving Boston and coming back to Maryland to be at home so she could help me. She enrolled at Maryland University and graduated as a honor student. I am so proud of her and thankful for her love and care.
