She's heard it all before. I want to make sure she knows it all. Kathy has been my emotional rock. Over the last year she has listened when I needed an ear, gotten angry when I wouldn't allow myself to, cried when I couldn't, and most importantly, let me laugh at really stupid things! She let me know how she was affected by my cancer, when others didn't want to "add to my troubles." Kathy let me call the shots. She let me fight the way I needed to fight. She let me be sick the way I needed to be sick. I never had to stop being me to support her through this. She allowed me to do what I needed to do, not what she needed me to do. I had physical support from other people, but NO ONE gave me the emotional support that Kathy offered. She had a role to fill and I give her a standing ovation for the job she did. I was so blessed to have her "choose" me as a friend, although I don't call her friend. She is family. She will always be my Star!
