Shortly after my first chemo in June of last year, my husband had a serious motorcycle accident. After our resulting hospitalizations, we were going to have a hard time recuperating in our home alone. Without any request for help, my sister retired from her long time job/career (which she'd been planning on doing later on--but not right then) and came up from AZ to WA state--leaving her husband to fend for himself and stayed with us--cooking, cleaning, pushing my husband around in his wheelchair, taking/sitting with me in doctor's appts. and through chemo treatments and doing all that was necessary to keep us going for the next 3 months so we could get back on our feet. We're still overwhelmed at the unselfishness and love she showed us. We don't know many people who are as selfless as she is. She was our rock and angel last year! There's no way we could ever thank her enough for all she did for us. Never. Most of us think we'd be that unselfish, but if it came right down to it, how many of us actually would give up that much of our lives for someone else? Anyone who knows her knows she's a Star!! We love her SO much and will be eternally grateful for what she did for us.
