An Evening with the Stars: A Celebration to Honor Cancer Caregivers

To celebrate the successful first year of The Star Campaign, TWC held an evening to honor the Stars in the lives of cancer patients and survivors, and to look to the future of the campaign. Ms. Carroll and her own Star served as the guests of honor for the evening, and several other Stars featured on the campaign website attended. Posters and table tents featuring people affected by cancer and their Star caregivers adorned the National Museum of Women in the Arts where the event was held. Invited guests included oncologists and other healthcare professionals, cancer patients and caregivers, allied organizations, GSK representatives and TWC staff.

Diahann Carroll Launches National Campaign Honoring Cancer Caregivers: Press Conference
On launch day, TWC organized a luncheon event with Ms. Carroll, GSK representatives, TWC staff, cancer survivors and their Stars. At the luncheon, the PSA was premiered to the public, survey findings were shared, and Diahann Carroll spoke about her involvement and dedication to the campaign. The launch also resulted in a news article by United Press International.
